Postdoctoral Position in Exoplanetary Sciences at University of Amsterdam in Netherlands, 2017

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position at the Anton Pannekoek Institute for Astronomy (API), the University of Amsterdam (UvA) to work with assistant professor Jean-Michel Désert on the observational characterization of exoplanets.

The successful applicant will contribute to several current research programs using space-and-ground based surveys dedicated to probing exoplanet atmospheres.

Established in 1632 by municipal authorities and later renamed for the city of Amsterdam, the University of Amsterdam is the third oldest university in the Netherlands.

Course Level: Position is available for pursuing postdoctoral program.

Study Subject: Position is awarded in Exoplanetary Sciences.

Scholarship Award: The salary will be in accordance with the University regulations for academic personnel, and will range from €3,044 to €3,997 (salary scale 10) gross per month. This is excl. 8% holiday allowance and 8,3% end of year bonus.

Eligibility: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for this position:

Previous experience with exoplanet observations is strongly preferred but not required. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in astronomy or physics on arrival.

Nationality: Applicants from Netherlands are eligible to apply for this position.
